Relax and Recharge

We've all been there. Those nights when we can't seem to turn our brain off and just fall asleep. Not only is it frustrating in the moment, but it also makes for a very long, lethargic day. Here are a few relaxation tips that could help you reach that REM state.

1. Disconnect. || One hour before you go to sleep turn off all of your electronics. Our devices promote mental activity and that constant scrolling you are doing before bed is a contributing factor to your sleepless nights.

2. Tidy Up. || Keep your bedroom neat and organized. Cluttered room, cluttered mind. There is plenty of cute storage options that can help keep your room organized and you well-rested.

3. Take A Bath. || Break out the bath salts, aromatherapy candles, and pour yourself a glass of wine (or tea!). Since this is not typically an everyday indulgence it will put you in the mindset that bedtime is near!

4. Scentsations. || Scent your room with relaxing aromas like lavender, chamomile, or jasmine. Reed diffusers are the most effective way as they emit scents slowly and safely over a long period of time.

5. Dim the Lights. || Our bodies are very responsive to light. Exposure to bright lights promotes wakefulness which is another reason why it is important to put down your phone or tablet one hour before bed. Dimming your bedroom light will prepare your body for sleep. Controlling noise and temperature will also help.
