My waterbed has a leak? What do I do?
There are two types of leaks: seam leaks and cuts/punctures.
Follow the directions below to determine your type of leak:

If the mattress has not been drained:
- Always unplug your waterbed heater before draining (or filling) your waterbed.
- Absorb any water in the cavity with a large bath towel.
- Place paper towels around the suspected area (i.e., corners and bottom seams).
- Lay on the bed for 2-3 minutes to apply pressure.
- Check paper towel for the location of the leak.
- Circle the leak with a magic marker.
- If the leak is on the seam, call Jordan's Customer Service at
1-866-8-JORDANS.
- If the leak is not on the seam, and is a small cut or pinhole, a patch or drop of glue will repair it.

If the mattress is drained:
- Blow the mattress up with air using a shop vac or a vacuum that reverses air. Add enough air that the mattress is double in height.
- Place weight on the mattress, and take a soapy cloth or squirt bottle with dish soap, and work around the suspected areas (i.e., seams and corners). Bubbles will appear in the defective area.

How to repair the leak:
- It is not necessary to drain the mattress.
- Remove the cap and the insert to allow a small amount of air into the mattress. Then, replace the cap and the insert.
- Push the air bubble up to the defective area.
- Add a drop of glue if the area is small, or use a patch for a larger cut. If using a patch, for additional protection, place a line of glue around its perimeter.
- Release the air bubble.
- Avoid any pressure on the mattress for 4-5 hours.
- Remove the air bubble from mattress and replace the cap and the insert.

How do I fill my waterbed?
You will need a fill and drain kit for this procedure. These kits are available at all Jordan's Furniture locations.

- Always unplug your waterbed heater before filling (or draining) your waterbed.
- Remove the aerator from your faucet.
- Attach the faucet connector provided with your waterbed to the faucet.
- Attach a garden hose to the faucet connector (If your hose has been outside, you should flush it out for 1-2 minutes).
- Place a towel over the faucet to avoid possible spraying.
- Attach the waterbed hose connector onto your garden hose. Insert the hose connector into the mattress valve and attach securely to avoid leakage. Wrap a towel around this connector to soak up unavoidable leakage.
- Pour in the waterbed conditioner.
- Fill your bed with mild to warm water, approximately one quarter to one half inch below the side of the frame boards. (Remember, it's easier to add more water than it is to take it out.)
- Shut off the water and remove the hose.
- Remove the air bubbles by pushing a yardstick, broom handle, etc., towards the valve. You will have to remove the air bubbles again in about 3 days and occasionally thereafter.

How do I drain my waterbed?
- Always unplug your waterbed heater before draining (or filling) your waterbed.
- Attach your garden hose to a faucet.
- Turn on the water for 15 seconds. This pushes the air in the hose into your bed so can create a continuous water siphon.
- Turn off the water. Disconnect the hose and let it drain into the sink, tub, or on the ground. As long as the end of the hose is lower than your waterbed, gravity will siphon the water completely out.
- If your bed is located in a basement area below ground level, this procedure may not work. But don't worry, we have drain pumps available at all Jordan's Furniture stores. Email us or call us at 1-866-8-JORDANS for details.
