| December 27,2001 JORDAN'S FURNITURE AND MARK WAHLBERG HOST AREA BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS Jordan's hosts a holiday breakfast for area kids of The Boys & Girls Clubs, in partnership with the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation. On Sunday morning, December 23, 2001 in their Natick location, Jordan's Furniture hosted a holiday event for over 150 area children of The Boys & Girls Clubs. The event was in partnership with the newly-founded Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation. Hollywood hunk Mark Wahlberg and local favorite Eliot Tatelman from Jordan's were on hand for autographs and photos.
"We get such a charge out of seeing all of these wonderful kids having a great time", says Eliot, Jordan's Furniture President. "If events like this help to make the holiday brighter for them all, then it's worth it. It's why we do it."
The Boys & Girls Clubs that participated were from Dorchester, Framingham, and Plymouth. Children from Brockton's St. Edwards School were also invited. The guests enjoyed breakfast, courtesy of Krispy Kreme, arts & crafts, the Jordan's Mardi Gras FX show, a magician, and an appearance by the man in red himself, Santa Claus. All children received a gift consisting of a knapsack, a Discman, CD's, and clothes. Smiles were abound and the event made for a brighter holiday for many area children.
Jordan's Furniture regularly hosts charity events, on Sundays, during non-operational hours as a way of giving back to the community.
