Across the Sea of Time 3D
LEOPOLD TRAVELED TO AMERICA in 1904. He chronicled his new life in New York City with stereoptic black and white photographs.
In 1995, 10-year-old Tomas arrives in New York, determined to reconnect with his lost relatives. With his uncle's 3D photographs and a stereopticon in hand, Tomas explores the city and encounters the sights, sounds, and citizens of present-day New York.
Across the Sea of Time 3D is a journey through an important aspect of America - the immigrant experience. Students and adults are quickly drawn in to Tomas' adventure: you'll see Ellis Island through his eyes and through preserved stereoptic images dating back more than 100 years. You'll travel with young Tomas through contemporary New York City and feel the exhilaration and anxiety that comes from finding friendship and family in a sea of strangers.
Beautifully shot in IMAX 3D, starring many familiar landmarks of New York City including Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Flatiron Building, the World Trade Center, The New York Stock Exchange, the Shubert Theatre, and Times Square.
Jordan's own IMAX Education Team proudly presents the Got J.U.I.C.E.? Curriculum Guide: unique lessons linked to the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks in Mathematics, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies. Lessons may be used as an integrated, interdisciplinary unit with a team of teachers or as a stand alone for individual teachers.
These teacher-friendly, student-centered activities will assist you as you prepare your students for the IMAX films they will be viewing.
